I agree, things are open to interpretation, as with everything in life. But this verse fits into a bigger picture of Jesus claiming authority equal to that of God. He said and did things that the Jews believed only God could say and do. It became clear to people that Jesus was acting on behalf of Israel's God. This had never been done before, not even by the greatest prophets such as Moses and Abraham. Our only logical conclusion is that Jesus was more than a prophet. He was the Son of the Father, whatever that means!

I also think that Islam is more than just submission of your will to God. Again, Jews and Christians claim to believe the same. Islam means that you accept Muhammed's prophecy and the Qur'an's final revelation. Wouldn't you say?

Hello, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately I don't think all three revelations can be correct. Otherwise all Jews and Christians would be calling themselves Muslims! As I said in the post, each has re-interpreted the previous revelation so that the two have become mutually exclusive. Jews do not agree with the Christian revelation, just like Christians do not agree with the Muslm revelation. I am aware that the Qur'an claims to be the final revelation. But the Bible makes the same claim! And the Jews do not accept this claim, as the Christians do not accept the claim of the Qur'an. So it has to be one of the three. It cannot be the same God in all three.

Bismillah ir rahman niraheem
In the name of ALLAH the most beneficent and the most merciful
May Allah guide you to truth,

Bravo, for realizing the need to know the true revelation.!
You seem to be confused with which is the correct revelation
The answer is all three are correct, each one came for that particular time and context, e.g christ never rejected the pure torah in gospel, nor did quran reject the pure gospel.
and each time the last revelation was the de-facto standard to be followed. This is because god did not send multiple religion but only one religion, called "submission of your will to god"
this is also reflected in :"thy will be done"(john)
infact the Quran confirms that the past revelations were indeed true, and this new revealtion -The quran is the last and final revelation which is now no longer tied to a context or historical time, but it is a universal message applicable till the last day.

Hence quran is the culmination of a series of revelation which god gave to mankind.

Alhamdulillah!
